Alumni Reflections

Over the past 60 years Plumfield Academy has served more than 1,000 children, providing them with a safe and loving place to learn and grow. We frequently hear from our alumni students and wanted to share some of their memories and experiences during their time at Plumfield.

“I have a very fond place in my heart for Plumfield. The whole time I was there the amazing staff were so generous, compassionate, and willing to go above and beyond for me. Plumfield afforded me the opportunity of a lifetime to be a successful person.”

“Plumfield is good at helping kids not become victims to their histories. I’m glad you were there for me for the greater part of my developmental years, because before then, people weren’t steering me in the right direction. During my voyage, I’m glad you had the wheel.”

“This place changed my life for the better. I learned such valuable life skills, such as being better in social interactions, how to control my emotions, and the staff care a lot about the students. I don’t know where or who I would be if it wasn’t for Plumfield.”

“When I first got to Plumfield, I thought it would be like any other public school. I can proudly say I was wrong. I felt like I was part of a family, even through ups and downs. We grew and learned more than I could ever imagine at any other school. It’s thanks to the director and her teams of counselors, teachers, and wonderful staff. Without Plumfield, I wouldn’t be the honest person I am today, and I now can be who I was meant to be. I have used everything they taught me, and I can’t thank them enough to this day!”
