In 2024, Plumfield celebrated 60 years of learning, growing and caring for students who learn differently.

Overview

We feel honored to teach boys TK-12 who learn differently. The experience of school is important to us, so our classrooms are intentionally set in a beautiful, natural setting that reduces noise while keeping visual distractions limited.

Secondary Hero Background

Customized Learning

With 3-6 students in each class, we have the ability to create an individualized curriculum based on both the California Common Core Standards and each student’s unique IEP. Personalized and person-centered instruction matters to us.

We also teach a custom, social-emotional learning program developed here at Plumfield called The 5 PILLARS. This program helps students develop social skills and a sense of personal mastery—life skills that he will need for school and beyond.

We believe that cultivating different interests is essential for human happiness, so we offer Music, Theater, Art, Technology, Land Stewardship, Athletics, Media Lab and Electives.

We currently teach 24 students living in all school districts across Sonoma County including Santa Rosa, Windsor, Sonoma, Petaluma, Cotati/Rohnert Park, West County, Kenwood, and Guerneville.

We focus on Individualized instruction.
